Software engineering company CodeTwo has released a new version of its Backup for Office 365 solution, offering customers the ability to archive their Microsoft SharePoint data.

The previous version created incremental backups of Office 365 mailboxes and public folders.

“Many of our clients, happy with their current experience with CodeTwo Backup for Office 365, approached us, asking for a way to create SharePoint Online backups,” said Jaroslaw Bednarz, chief officer of Technology at CodeTwo. “The only natural thing to do was to implement that feature in our software.”

The new version of the program offers automated incremental backups of SharePoint Online and OneDrive for business data. It also offers SharePoint data recovery options, allowing users to recover entire site collections and Office 365 team sites to the original location and any other online or on-premises SharePoint environment.

“Beta tests were finished successfully,” said Bednarz. “Many of our clients praised the program for its ease of use, as well as the accuracy and speed of the backup process. They were also very pleased to learn that we have introduced a new licensing model that allows activating CodeTwo Backup for Office 365 on multiple machines. We are very excited and cannot wait to get feedback on the final version of the program.”
