Companies around the world are embarking on digital transformations, and most are looking to move their workloads to the cloud to save money and take advantage of up-to-date features and functions. Most importantly, they want to add value to their business.

If an organisation is ready to move from an on-premise infrastructure to a cloud-based platform like Microsoft Dynamics 365, it’s important they understand how to get the maximum benefits from this investment. Migrating to the cloud takes careful planning and a strategic approach to ensure that it is seamless, successful and, above all, non-disruptive.

Eclipse, A DXC Technology Company, helps customers to assess their current business systems, processes and readiness to transition to the Microsoft cloud. The team focuses on managing the business risks, integration, security, and optimising the new technical and operational opportunities available in the cloud.

DXC Eclipse starts by completing a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Readiness Review to understand the customer’s current business state. It reviews four key elements: the business systems environment, the infrastructure readiness, the role IT can play in the business strategy, and change management plans and risk analysis. It then undertakes a series of workshops and information sessions to engage with stakeholders, specialists and key users to align organisational objectives with the ultimate cloud solution architecture map.

To help organisations select the right Microsoft Dynamics 365 workloads, DXC Eclipse provides a report that incorporates a solution map with graphics, summarising the relationship between Microsoft Dynamics 365 and existing business solution technologies along with proposed technologies. The report includes a solution roadmap outlining a clear and defined path to transition with proposed implementation timeframes. Current business functionality is clearly mapped to the new solution, outlining key business roles as they relate to the new architecture. Any possible implementation challenges are also highlighted, along with recommendations for mitigating these risks, and an overview of the expected short-, medium- and long-term licence and solution costs.

In addition, DXC Eclipse provides an executive briefing pack to assist in getting corporate sponsors and other executives onboard. This pack includes an executive briefing document and Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, as well as a ‘workshop-style’ overview of the executive documentation.

DXC Eclipse’s readiness review delivers a framework for successful digital transformation and is the logical first step for companies to start their journey to Microsoft’s intelligent business cloud.
