Healthcare provider Bupa has further committed to migrating key applications to Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform to position itself at “the forefront of digital healthcare”, says Microsoft.

Bupa will also roll out Dynamics 365 in the UK and Australia, which, combined with applications based in Azure, Microsoft says will “enable the organisation to offer more personalised, insight-led healthcare as part of its strategy to become the most customer-centric healthcare company in the world”.

“Microsoft Azure services will enable Bupa to take a significant leap forward on our digital transformation journey,” said Diana Kennedy, Bupa’s chief technology and architecture officer. “It will help us accelerate the delivery of digital solutions and improve services to our customers supporting our ambition to become the most customer-centric healthcare company in the world.”

Bupa intends to use Microsoft Azure services to be more agile in responding to the digital needs of employees and customers. To facilitate this, the firm is looking to implement machine learning and artificial intelligence technology to improve its engagement with clients and patients.

“Microsoft Azure has the agility, security and flexibility that makes it the perfect cloud platform for use in the healthcare sector,” said Michael Wignall, Azure business lead at Microsoft UK. “It is already helping many organisations across the world to store and analyse huge amounts of data to unlock insights and growth opportunities. I’m delighted that Bupa has joined the growing list of companies committing to using Azure.”
