How can enterprises safeguard Microsoft 365 files from cyberattack?

Cloud-first cybersecurity companies such as Barracuda have noticed an increase in the number of customers looking to re-evaluate their data backup strategies to ensure that their data is fully protected. This increase has been driven, in part, by the rise of remote working after the Covid-19 pandemic. Organisations are now more aware of the need to protect their data in hybrid cloud environments.

Barracuda is helping its customers navigate these challenges with its data protection solutions – such as Barracuda Backup and Cloud-to-Cloud Backup – which help to protect customer data from a wide variety of ransomware and cyberattacks.

“We have Cloud-to-Cloud Backup to protect data in Microsoft 365,” says Shawn Lubahn, senior product manager at Barracuda. “Barracuda Backup is also a cloud-based solution, which enables remote management, backup and recovery of data and applications that remain on-premises. Our data protection solutions are extremely easy to deploy and use. They also protect data from ransomware and can be used alongside the majority of the most widely used on-premises and Microsoft 365 applications.”

Barracuda is committed to protecting its customers’ and partners’ data securely, simply and reliably by developing new solutions to combat the ever-increasing amount of cybercrime.

“What sets us apart from our competitors is that we focus on ensuring that customer data is protected from failure, accidental or malicious deletion, disaster and ransomware,” says Lubahn. “This means that we will fix the problem and put solutions in place to avoid it happening again.”

In September 2022, Barracuda launched a new model of its Barracuda Backup solution, which holds up to 168 terabytes of data. “The 1191 model ensures that we can continue to grow with our customers and their growing datasets,” says Lubahn.

In 2021, the firm also launched a new version of its Cloud-to-Cloud Backup solution, a cloud-based platform that protects data and applications in Microsoft 365.

“Our goal is to protect virtual, physical and Microsoft 365 data,” says Lubahn. “We achieve this with our purpose-built Barracuda Backup appliances and our Cloud-to-Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365 solutions. Barracuda Backup protects on-premises virtual and physical environments, while Cloud-to-Cloud Backup provides protection for Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, OneNote and Teams data.

“It’s also important that our customers and partners know that we are listening to their feedback, and we are committed to protecting their data securely, simply and reliably.”
