Cloud security solutions provider Barracuda Networks has launched new capabilities for its CloudGen Firewall which are designed to improve the Office 365 user experience with Microsoft Azure Virtual WAN and enhance security and connectivity to Microsoft Azure while reducing network costs.
By enforcing Office 365 policies in Azure Virtual WAN, Barracuda CloudGen Firewall aims to reduce, and even eliminate, potential network-related performance issues. Azure Virtual WAN customers can use the functionality to specify their trusted Office 365 traffic categories, which will then bypass proxies and route directly to the nearest Microsoft network location. This is designed to improve the user experience and save WAN costs by avoiding traffic back-hauling.
“Customers want to optimise their Office 365 traffic, but security is still a top priority,” said Klaus Gheri, vice president of Network Security at Barracuda. “By using our integration with Azure Virtual WAN, customers get the benefits of a high-performance branch-to-branch network with enhanced security from Barracuda CloudGen Firewall.”
The Office 365 policy in Azure Virtual WAN and the connection of Barracuda CloudGen Firewall with Azure Virtual WAN are automatically configured to simplify the onboarding process for customers.
