At its annual partner conference, Inspire 2017, Microsoft confirmed that it has delivered Azure Stack software to its hardware partners, enabling it to begin the certification process for new hybrid cloud systems. The first systems are expected to begin shipping in September.

Azure Stack is a set of products that let you build a version of the Microsoft Azure cloud in your own data centre. Microsoft's aim is to help its customers use both private and public cloud services from a single platform, allowing them to maximise investments across cloud and on-premises environments and build and deploy applications using the exact same approach, the same APIs, same DevOps tools and same portal.

Integrated systems are now available to order from Dell EMC, HPE and Lenovo.  Microsoft has also released the pricing for the pay-as-you-use and capacity-based models, which can be found here.

The Azure Stack Development Kit (ASDK), the free single-server deployment option for trial purposes, has also been made available for web download. This can be used to build and validate applications for integrated systems deployments.
