Microsoft and Teradici have partnered to support games developers working in the office, remotely and in hybrid environments. Combining the Microsoft Azure cloud and Teradici Cloud Access Software (CAS), the two firms deliver secure and high-performance remote desktop experiences with high frame rates and low latency.

The joint solution enables automated deployment of Windows Virtual Machines (VMs), connecting to the user’s choice of NVIDIA and AMD graphic processing units. It includes Microsoft Visual Studio for coding work, Blender, Visual Studio App Center for mobile gaming, and Epic Games Unreal Engine.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Teradici to deliver tools, services and support to game creators across the world,” said James Gwertzman, general manager for gaming cloud at Microsoft. “Remote work capabilities are increasingly important for game developers, and the combination of Microsoft Azure and Teradici CAS provides a high-fidelity, low-latency end-user experience that’s ideal for artists and other creators, and which will unlock ‘in-studio’ levels of productivity from anywhere.”

According to Teradici, users can deploy the VM within 20 minutes, “streamlining the installation process and speeding time to productivity for game developers, artists and editors”. It is free to deploy through an Azure subscription and is now available now in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.
