Schlumberger, the oilfield services company, has announced DrillPlan – a new digital well construction planning solution which has proven in trials to help oil and gas companies deliver their well planning programmes in days rather than weeks.
The programme provides operators and service companies with the data they need in a single system, creating a circular workflow where plans are improved as new data is added, enabling future drilling programmes to benefit from prior experience.
“Through DrillPlan, we are delivering a radical new way of working that will give our customers faster and higher quality drilling plans by enabling the automation of repetitive tasks and validation workflows leading to a more coherent approach,” said Gavin Rennick, president of Software Integrated Solutions, Schlumberger.
The DrillPlan solution will use both Microsoft Azure and Azure Stack hybrid cloud solutions. This, combined with the real-time communication tools offered by Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams, will enable greater collaboration among teams and stakeholders, resulting in increased productivity.
