Microsoft has launched several technology updates aimed at helping customers adopt artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

Azure Cognitive Services containers will allow developers to add features such as object detection, vision recognition and language understanding into applications without having direct AI skills. Initial containerised services are now available in preview.

Microsoft is also previewing simpler AI features in its Power BI business analytics service. These updates are designed to make it easier for business users to discover hidden insights in data, regardless of their coding skills.

New systems for translation developed in Microsoft’s research labs have been incorporated into technologies like Microsoft Translator app and the Presentation Translator plug-in for PowerPoint.

Azure Bot Service updates are also available, including the general availability of Bot Framework SDK and Tools version 4.1, which helps developers build bots more efficiently.

Microsoft has also released guidelines to help customers develop conversational AI tools responsibly, which include considerations related to employment, finances, physical and mental well-being, and other sensitive uses.
