According to Toby Richards, general manager of Microsoft’s One Commercial Partner organisation, the global market for cloud migration services is forecast to grow to US$9.4 billion by 2022. Enterprises worldwide are seeing the benefits of using cloud computing such as Microsoft Azure; it can reduce costs, increase scalability and improve security. 

Here’s a roundup of some of the most innovative uses of Microsoft Azure so far this year:
1. IT security firm Imprivata launched its Identity and Access Management Cloud Platform with Microsoft to optimise clinical workers’ time and lower costs.
2. The South Australia Department for Correctional Services is using the cloud and Office 365 to reduce reoffending by giving inmates the necessary skills for employment when they leave prison. 
3. Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi has launched its Alliance Intelligent Cloud on Microsoft Azure which will deliver connected services in vehicles using the cloud’s artificial intelligence and internet of things offerings.
4. Downer Group, an Australia-based firm that designs and constructs infrastructure, is using Azure to monitor the performance of trains in New South Wales and reduce maintenance downtime. 
5. Russian affiliate program for fashion brand promotion Sarafan Technology is using Microsoft Azure’s machine learning and data services to speed up its processing.
