2014 Microsoft Partner of the Year Award Winner: CGI IT UK

Microsoft has named CGI IT UK as its Intelligent Systems Partner of the Year for its Intelligent Enterprise solution, which has been deployed by Telent, a UK-based infrastructure management services provider for its client Transport for London.

Delivered by CGI and Telent as part of a partnership to improve infrastructure management on the London Underground, the solution demonstrates how London Undergound can capitalise on the internet of things (IoT) and modernise and automate the systems that monitor its critical assets. These include escalators, elevators, HVAC control systems and CCTV and communication networks.

Built on Microsoft Azure Intelligent Systems Service, the real-time solution captures data from devices and sensors – such as temperature, fault warnings and system alerts – and automatically and securely transfers it to the cloud. Vital information can be accessed on mobile apps, a web browser, or through text alerts, enabling staff to proactively respond to data and reduce service delays, increase efficiency, lower costs and improve strategic decisions with new insights into asset performance.

OnWindows caught up with Kevin Cunningham, vice president enterprise markets at CGI UK, to find out more about the solution and what the award means to the company
