The worldwide retail community will be gathering at London’s Olympia next week when RBTE, the retail solutions event, opens its doors for business.

Global visitors from as far away as Australia will be joining their European colleagues from hundreds of tier one and two retailers, as well as hospitality and leisure providers, while over 17,000 visitors are expected over the two-day event.

Over 370 solution providers will be at the event, ranging from the largest international players to small boutique suppliers and innovative start-ups, offering a range of solutions from full scale ERP systems to mobile payments. The most innovation solutions will be put under the spotlight in the RBTE Innovation Trail and Awards, sponsored by Aptos. RBTE exhibitors have been invited to submit entries which include Projected Augmented Reality, Touchless Checkout and Electronic Price Labels which were reviewed by a judging panel of experts. The overall winner will be announced at the Dilax Big Party in the gloodoo Champagne Party at 4.45pm on Monday 8th May.

The Conference programme at RBTE has attracted a lot of attention. “It’s absolutely packed with Europe’s leading retailers all dedicated to solving the issues dominating the retail world and helping drive new customers,” said an official press release. Keynote speakers include: Dave Robinson, head of Personalisation at Boots; Frank Muzika, UK lead executive at Toys R Us; Beverley Murigneux, head of international at Boux Avenue; Sean O'Connor, head of product for Buy, Mobile and Customer Experience at John Lewis; Martin Goldstein, head of purchasing at River Island; Alexander Allen, director of Strategy and Business Development at Maplin; Steve Moore, director of Connected Home at Dixons Carphone and Kræn Østergaard Nielsen, CTO at Coop Denmark.

With so much going on, delegates will appreciate the K3 Retailer Lounge – a retreat for retailers to relax and network in a vendor-free area. There’s also the PayPal Chill & Charge Lounge to refuel and recharge phones.

In addition to all this, visitors to RBTE can also visit the co-located Retail Digital Signage Expo and Retail Design Expo. RBTE will be held on 8th-9th May at Olympia, London.
