Dassault Systèmes launches ‘Design for Fabrication’ solution experience

3DEXPERIENCE company Dassault Systèmes has launched the ‘Design for Fabrication’ industry solution experience for architects, engineers and construction workers (AEC).

Based on Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the ‘Design for Fabrication’ industry solution experience provides end-to-end, collaborative building information modelling (BIM) solutions for the design and fabrication of any building or structure. This includes bridges, tunnels, industrial buildings, high-rise buildings, concrete and steel frames, pre-cast concrete, building façades. It also covers building system elements of any scale, from single occupant to campus and city infrastructures.

The cloud-based solution gives design and fabrication simultaneous, real-time access to project data in the context of the 3D model. They can work from the same design models and leverage the insights from experts across the supply chain to create more informed designs, reduce later rework, and more accurately predict project costs and timelines.

“While BIM usage has gradually improved design coordination and construction coordination independently, there remains a lack of continuity between design data and the fabrication model for the shop floor,” said Marty Doscher, vice president of architecture, engineering and construction industry at Dassault Systèmes. “The 3DEXPERIENCE platform bridges the gap between designers and fabricators. By adopting seamless collaborative processes that connect people and data from start to finish, multiple project stakeholders can create efficiencies, realise significant savings in time and money, and improve the quality of project delivery.”
