ERP provider Columbus has acquired Omnica, a UK-based retail and e-commerce company.

The acquisition, which is for an undisclosed sum, is part of Columbus’ commitment this year to strengthen its position as a consultancy to retailers.

Omnica’s management will remain in key roles in the new setup.

“Omnica is a perfectly natural extension to our existing food, manufacturing and distribution consultancy knowledge, adding strong retail and e-commerce expertise,” commented Mary Hunter, managing director, Columbus UK.

“E-commerce and multi-channel retail are important for our customers, and with Omnica as part of our business we will gain unrivalled knowledge and insights in this field,” said Thomas Honoré, CEO, Columbus. “We are also excited about the global potential in their software solutions with customers such as Lucky Vitamin, Eason and Direct Wines.”

“With Columbus’ global reach we can expand into new markets and take our multi-channel retail solutions to new levels,” said Harry Manley, managing director, Omnica.
