Finnish company PayiQ is to integrate its Microsoft technology-based ticketing-as-a-service solution into OP Financial Group’s Pivo mobile wallet.

Initially, more than 800,000 registered Pivo customers will be able to use PayiQ’s service to purchase tickets for various public transportation services across Finland. In future, they will be able to do the same for events.

OP Financial Group is adding PayiQ services as part of an overall revamp of Pivo, which will enable customers to access new benefits and make more payments via the mobile wallet.

“Our goal is to turn Pivo into a platform for day-to-day services that makes life easier for the customers of all banks,” said Masa Peura, head of new business at OP Group. “Going forward, we want to offer even more diverse options within Pivo for both our merchant partners and users. The range of services will expand, and they will all be available within one app. For example, Pivo users will be able to order pizza or a taxi, book a restaurant table or buy mobile bus tickets through the Pivo app.”
