Telenet-owned media company SBS Belgium has deployed Blackbird’s cloud-native video editing platform to drive production workflow efficiencies.

SBS Belgium’s content operations uses Blackbird to quickly access streams, edit content and publish to multiple digital endpoints including social, web and over-the-top platforms. It runs its Blackbird workflows through a hybrid mix of cloud and on-premises infrastructure to ensure maximum operational flexibility.

“Blackbird has made our live stream content available to our digital and marketing teams in a fast and accessible way,” said Stijn Vandecasteele, content operations manager at SBS Belgium. “Thanks to this improvement in our workflow, the best moments from our live shows have found their way to our social media channels in no time, adding an additional layer of value to our content.”

According to Blackbird, the platform can help user reduce carbon emissions by up to 91 per cent compared to other video editing workflows and infrastructure costs by up to 75 per cent due to its cloud-native architecture.

“We’re thrilled to welcome another leading media organisation to the Blackbird community,” said Ian McDonough, CEO of Blackbird. “SBS Belgium is one of a fast-growing number of forward-thinking companies seeking to create and publish content faster and more efficiently with cloud-native production tools. It’s our pleasure to be working with their innovative team.”

SBS Belgium joins other Blackbird customers including Univision, Tata Communications, EVS, IMG, Deltatre, Sky News Arabia, A+E Networks, BT, NHL, Eleven Sports, Cheddar News and the US Department of State.
