Microsoft will make its artificial intelligence-powered Bing Chat tool accessible in third-party browsers on web and mobile soon.

The Bing Chat tool has been available since February and the Bing Image Creator since March. It has been used to handle over one billion chats and share 750 million images since then.

“This next step in the journey allows Bing to showcase the incredible value of summarised answers, image creation and more, to a broader array of people,” said the Microsoft Bing team in a blog post titled ‘Celebrating 6 months of the new AI-powered Bing’. “You’ll get most of the great benefits of Bing and we’ll continue to optimise along the way to meet your needs across different browsers.”

However, Microsoft suggests using Bing in the Microsoft Edge browser for the best experience to hold longer conversations and access both the chat history and features built into the browser.

Other new features for Bing Chat will include multimodal visual search where users can prompt Bing Chat with pictures and related questions, dark mode and Bing Chat Enterprise that will provide verifiable answers and citations as well as commercial data protection for enterprise users.
