Microsoft will showcase its artificial intelligence innovations for the financial services sector at Sibos, which is taking place on 18-21 September 2023 in Toronto, Canada.
“Sibos is a key event that brings together industry executives, decision makers, and thought leaders to debate and collaborate on areas such as payments, securities, cash management and trade,” said Bill Borden, corporate vice president of worldwide financial services at Microsoft, in a blog post titled ‘Microsoft at Sibos 2023: Showcasing Microsoft Cloud for Financial Services’. “The theme at this year’s event, ‘Collaborative finance in a fragmented world’, resonates with the work we’re doing across the industry, as it touches on inclusion, risk management, sustainability, and the balance of technology and trust.”
Senior executives from Microsoft will join financial services leaders, such as HSBC and Swift, to share their insights on AI. Jacqueline O’Flanagan, financial industry services lead at Microsoft, will contribute to a panel discussion about understanding the reality of AI’s reach, whilst Matthew Kerner, corporate vice president for Microsoft Cloud for Industry, will discuss Microsoft’s project to implement Azure OpenAI across the London Stock Exchange Group’s data infrastructure to improve productivity.
Microsoft will also cover the demand for cloud solutions and their benefits for financial services providers with Sean Foley, chief technology officer for worldwide financial services, contributing to a session called ‘Sky’s the limit: Transforming financial agility with Swift Cloud’. Foley will also explore how cloud deployment is meeting sovereignty requirements in the ‘Navigating the cloud: Sovereignty, strategy, and action’ session, with Kyndryl’s Harish Grama and J. P. Mogan’s Mike Blandina.
In addition, Microsoft’s corporate vice president of global treasury and financial services Anita Mehra will talk about the need for real-time information to cut risk and drive efficiency, while Microsoft Canada’s president Chris Barry will share how businesses can collaborate to stay connected across the financial ecosystem during the ‘Embracing global connectivity to unlock the future of finance’ session.
Microsoft partners, such as Capgemini, Finastra, Infosys, Publicis Sapient and Volante, will also exhibit at the event.
