Physiotherapists at the National Stroke Association of Malaysia (NASAM) are using Microsoft Teams for training and collaboration, enabling them to continue rehabilitation plans for patients.

Malaysia responded to Covid-19 by implementing a Movement Control Order (MCO), which forced NASAM to shut down its nine centres. The association deployed Teams across these centres within half a day, which Microsoft says “ensured therapists could continue planning care for their stroke patients while staying updated and organised from their homes”.

NASAM was able to transition all interactions – from regular meetings with specific groups of therapists, to conducting daily webinars and journal review sessions – to video calls. According to Microsoft, the various functions of Teams “created a conducive environment for conducting regular meetings and training that kept therapists abreast of the latest healthcare knowledge and services”.

“Microsoft Teams has been very useful and dependable for us – it proved to be very stable and user-friendly while we were working from home,” said Tracy Chan, head of rehabilitation at NASAM. “We are thankful that we could rely on it early into the MCO, especially as we were grappling with so many changes.”
