Cybersecurity technology firm Open Systems has committed to delivering greater managed detection and response (MDR) capabilities to its customers through its new Ontinue division.

The firm’s new arm uses artificial intelligence, automation, human expertise and the Microsoft security platform to continuously assess and protect an orgnisation’s environment, while advancing its security posture to deal with accelerating digital transformation.

Ontinue’s newly launched managed extended detection and response (MXDR) service, Ontinue ION, enables faster detection and response, a deeper understanding of a customer’s environment and the ability to maximise current Microsoft environments. As a result, Ontinue aims to give customers more proactive threat protection and greater efficiency.

“Ontinue is upending the MDR market by redefining what MDR services are capable of,” said Geoff Haydon, executive chairman of Open Systems and CEO of Ontinue. “Operationalising security requires new, innovative capabilities that go beyond conventional MDR features into automation, collaboration and – ultimately – prevention. This is what the Ontinue ION platform delivers to customers – nonstop. Ontinue ION improves security program efficacy and maturity, and liberates customers to embrace digital transformation, and to accomplish their business objectives confidently and productively.”

The new MXDR service also features Managed Vulnerability Mitigation, which enables customers to reduce risk by surfacing the small number of IT vulnerabilities that pose the greatest risk. It uses the continuous vulnerability assessment capability of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint to provide a prioritised subset of vulnerabilities for the customer to address.
