The Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis (TRRA) has implemented CloudMoyo’s crew management (CCM) solution to optimise railroad operations. Based on the Microsoft Azure cloud, the solution uses artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

AI algorithms consider many factors, including crew eligibility, qualifications and certifications, hours of service (HOS), records and vacation requests, to ensure better crew availability, intelligent rostering and lower costs as a result of better crew use.

“The next-generation CCM solution will substantially improve our capability to handle increasing car switching volumes, improve on-time arrivals, and optimise crew allocations,” said Mike McCarthy, CEO at TRRA. “We expect enhanced agility of the new integrated system along with a seamless user experience on mobile devices to clearly improve the operational efficiencies of our crew processes by over 90%.

“Combined with the CloudMoyo Operational Testing System, the new deployment is expected to transform workforce scheduling and safety while ensuring FRA compliance at TRRA.”
