In a recent blog post, Ron Markezich, Microsoft’s corporate vice president, has stated that information technology and services firm Accenture will complete the world’s largest deployment of Windows 10 technology in 2018.

This is the latest in a series of milestones Accenture has made using Microsoft technology. According to Markezich, Accenture was one of the first global corporations to migrate to Office 365 and has 484,000 Exchange Online mailboxes. “Consultants work in creative teams and stay engaged with the company through 20,000 SharePoint Online sites, and more than 25,000 employees are enthusiastic early adopters of Microsoft Teams,” he explains. “Cloud-first file storage is the norm, with employees enjoying mobile access to 900 million files or 2.2 petabytes of corporate data in OneDrive. And with employees racking up more than 309 million minutes of Skype for Business Online conferencing every month, it’s clear that they’re empowered to communicate on any device, when and where they need to. Mobility at this level does not come at the expense of security, because Accenture has the world’s largest deployment of Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security to manage approximately 450,000 identities and 104,000 mobile devices.”

In a video interview with Microsoft, Accenture’s chief information officer Andrew Wilson recognises the value that Microsoft technologies bring. “Microsoft technologies are at the heart of our digital worker posture. In fact, we run one of the largest Microsoft installations on the planet,” he said. “We have a successful track record of teaming with Microsoft, and their suite of collaboration tools are at the heart of our digital worker posture. From Skype and Office 365 to OneDrive for Business, Windows 10 and Azure -- Accenture runs on Microsoft. As our next generation of digital workers matures, newer capabilities like Microsoft Teams and Surface Hubs are becoming ever more important in the mix. Azure is critical to our cloud migration, helping push us from the already 80% in the cloud to the 90% at the end of this fiscal. With Microsoft technologies at the core, Accenture is a role model in communication and collaboration. We’re poised for the future and believe we’re at the leading edge of digital transformation for ourselves and our clients.”
