Globe Software launches beta version of Atlas 6.0 solution

Globe Software has released the beta version of its integration software, Atlas 6.0, to more than 140 partners, customers and prospects from Europe, Scandinavia, South Africa and North America.

Launched at an event at Australia House in London, Atlas 6.0 enable users to access enterprise data stored in Microsoft Dynamics ERP, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, external databases and SSRS OLAP cubes.

Opening the event, Jason Carter, Globe Software’s regional channel manager, highlighted the features of the latest version and explained how users can access updated data services via a new desktop application, smartphones and tablets.

Stuart Dobson, director and founder of Globe Software, then highlighted the upgraded version of Atlas 6.0 Office and the Atlas 6.0 Desktop, which features new project pages, Canvas, Dashboard and Fill. Dobson also demoed the enhanced user interface and the Atlas 6.0 Desktop Client, which enables users to manage content through devices.

During the event, several existing customers discussed how previous versions of Atlas have helped their companies to improve the efficiency and accuracy of operating processes.

UK cereal manufacturer Weetabix highlighted how Atlas has helped the company to reduce its month-end timetable by three days and improve year-end and tax computations. In addition, the company uses Atlas to provide key finance resources and access more consistent report and data extraction formats. Julie Hoyle, finance manager at Weetabix, also indicated that the ease of use and the fact that Atlas maintains AX security profiles were key benefits of the solution.

Watermark Products, a provider of around 400 products to the airline sector, has also deployed previous versions of Atlas to reduce costs and improve its process. The company also uses the solution for accounting management.

“The use of Atlas templates saved a huge amount of time and ultimately cost, during our set up phase,” said Allison Whittenbury, finance director at Watermark. “Atlas is very helpful for giving an overview. It is really quick to refresh after changes, transactions are extracted and pivot tables produced, and it offers drill down capabilities, which allows us to manage our exchange risk.”
