Microsoft is launching two new security and compliance offerings for Microsoft 365 that will become available on 1 February 2019. The offerings aim to help customers keep up with increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity threats and help them comply with information protection regulations such as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The two products ‘Identity and Threat Protection’ and ‘Information Protection and Compliance’ are aimed at those using the full Microsoft 365 suite, including Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility and Security (EMS).

The Identity and Threat Protection package will feature Microsoft’s advanced threat protection (ATP) security services, including Microsoft Cloud App Security, Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Threat Protection (Azure ATP, Windows Defender ATP, and Office 365 ATP).

The Information Protection and Compliance package combines Office 365 Advance Compliance and Azure Information Protection. “It’s designed to help chief compliance officers perform ongoing risk assessments with a compliance score across Microsoft Cloud services, automatically classify and protect sensitive data, and efficiently respond to regulatory requests leveraging artificial intelligence (AI),” said Ron Markezich, corporate vice president for Microsoft 365, in a recent blogpost.
