HP Enterprise and Warner Bros. to speak at MWC Los Angeles

HP Enterprise and Warner Bros. are among the many mobile technology companies that will speak at this year’s MWC Los Angeles on 22-24 October. They join many other firms to highlight the role of 5G in the era of intelligent connectivity.

Speakers include:
• Mike Finley, CEO of internet company Boingo
• Eric Garcetti, mayor of Los Angeles
• James Gowen, chairman of digital sustainability company GeSI
• Christopher Wellise, chief sustainability officer at HP Enterprise
• Kathryn Schloessman, president and CEO of Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission
• Doug Arent, deputy associate lab director at National Renewable Energy Laboratory
• Michel Combes, CEO of wireless telecommunications firm Sprint
• Thomas Gewecke, chief digital officer at Warner Bros. Entertainment

Beyond the keynote presentations, the conference programme will also offer eight open summits and 46 conference sessions. The CTIA “Everything Policy Track” returns to address some of the most important topics in regulation and policy and the GSMA Telco Cloud Summit will explore the latest solutions in cloud connectivity such as network functions virtualisation infrastructure, network slicing and edge computing. All attendees at this year’s show will also have access to compelling speakers participating in the Showfloor Talks focused on 5G and the internet of things (IoT).

The event will also feature the first Applied AI Forum and the Global AI Challenge hosted by the the event organiser GSMA and partners STC, Telenor, Telus, the Alan Turing Institute and Turkcell.

This year’s Women4Tech Summit will feature six sessions to address the persistent gender gap across the industry. Newly confirmed speakers include Susan Johnson from AT&T, Rashida Shehabi from Bank of America, Cognizant’s Shameka Young, Cheryl Miller van Dÿck from the Digital Leadership Institute and Tara Chklovski from Technovation.

The event’s GSMA Innovation City exhibition will showcase the latest smart city initiatives highlighting how mobile technology is making cities smarter, safer and more sustainable. The City of Los Angeles will demonstrate its efforts in this arena.
