Microsoft and partners showcase the future of hospitality at HITEC 2016

This week Microsoft returned to the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference (HITEC) hosted in the historic city of New Orleans. HITEC offers a combination of hospitality technology education, led by industry peers and experts, and a trade show showcasing the latest products and services.

Microsoft has showcased how it is reimagining the future of the guest experience – enabling a personal, seamless and differentiated future with today’s technologies. At the crux of this is the Connected Room Experience, which is currently being piloted in two suites at The Cromwell hotel, Las Vegas. Read the full story here.

Meanwhile, a wide range of Microsoft partners have been demonstrating how their technologies are facilitating new experiences. On the Microsoft booth, FREEDOMPAY has showcased its FreedomPay Commerce Platform which offers hospitality enterprises a single, scalable solution for PCI-validated payment security with P2PE, EMV, NFC, Dynamic Currency Conversion and Pay-at-Table capabilities. Operating on the Windows Platform and fully supported by Azure, enterprises can choose from a vast array of integrations across point-of-sale devices, payment processors and financial institutions, providing unparalleled protection for all payment transactions.

Meanwhile, MONDELEZ has been showing delegates how its Diji-touch solution looks like a vending machine, but acts like a marketing engine – offering branding, interaction, and consumption in one.

IRECKONU has demonstrated how its solution creates the possibility to fulfil guests’ wishes before they have even made them, through an intelligent software system that optimises guest experience, manages issues and keeps track of costs. The system recognises guests and uses information gathered from previous stays and gives each individual guest a face.

Also on the Microsoft booth, iRiS has revealed how its guest facing technology provides an intelligent guest experience platform.

Other partners exhibiting at the event include Technovation Solutions and Evolve.
