Microsoft Encode: hackathon for economic recovery

Microsoft Encode will take place virtually on 21-27 September. Microsoft is inviting developers, engineers and business leaders to take part in the hackathon to help with the economic recovery from Covid-19, and give them the chance to build, manage and deploy new applications on Azure.

“Now more than ever, the power of the cloud is enabling new ways to work and the need to build innovative applications and business models that serve the need (or define the need) of the new norm is essential,” said Microsoft, in a recent news story about the event. “At Microsoft, we believe in bringing developers, technologists, and business leaders together to hack and be creative to solve the most challenging situations of our time. This hackathon aims to be the spur of innovative ideas that can help the economy recover.”

Participants can join the hackathon virtually and use their preferred languages, frameworks, and infrastructure to build “something innovative and open” in the event’s four main sectors: healthcare, financial services, government and retail.
