The Future of Finance Summit (formerly The Asian Banker Summit) is to feature presentations from high-profile speakers and six tailor-made conferences when it takes place in Singapore on 8-10 June 2017.

Expected to attract more than 1,000 senior executives from around 30 countries in the Asia Pacific region, The Future of Finance Summit has been extended from bankers to asset managers, insurance players, and securities houses, peer-to-peer lenders, investors, and more.

“In this year’s The Future of Finance Summit, we are stepping away from the traditional landscape as we move towards the next phase of where the industry is heading,” said Emmanuel Daniel, chairman of The Asian Banker. “We have created a very open platform that brings new disruptors and financial institutions together.”

Each of the six conferences is targeted at a specific segment within the financial services industry, and will feature insights from industry experts and thought leaders on the future of finance. The conferences include: Leadership in the Digital Economy; Markets Disrupted – Rethinking Risk, Regulation and Post Trade; Frictionless – FI Payments, Transactions and Supply Chain; The Peer2Peer Conference – The Power of Network; Cybersecurity – Thinking Global, Acting Local; and FutureWealth Asia – Your Money, Wealth and Funding Great Business Ideas Today.

Key speakers will include Barney Frank, former US Congressman and co-author of the Dodd-Frank Act; David Shrier, managing director of MIT Connection Science; Cathy Lemieux, executive vice president of Supervision and Regulation at Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago; Marco Gercke, director of the Cybercrime Research Institute; and many more.

“The financial services industry is rapidly changing – new players are emerging and disrupting the way traditional players have been working for decades,” said Alain Chevalier, Professor of Finance, ESCP Europe and a chairman of the summit’s Advisory Board. “We aim to set the standards for the years to come.”

On 9 June, there will also be the first FutureWealth Asia conference for entrepreneurs, business owners and high net worth individuals who want to understand the emerging wealth platforms in the marketplace. This customer-centric conference will be hosted by media personality and presentation coach Joe Augustin and Noor Quek, founder and managing director of NQ International and one of Singapore’s most famous wealth management experts.

“Today, there is no shortage of financial news and information, given the rapid changes in Technology,” said Quek. “These may overwhelm potential investors and could impact investment decisions. Consequently, being selective about the validity of the source and content of investment information received is critical. It’s important for people to learn from credible sources and others who have experimented successfully before them, which is what I’m looking forward to at the FutureWealth Asia conference.”
