Microsoft makes Azure HDInsight generally available in China

Microsoft has now made Azure HDInsight generally available in China, making it the first global cloud provider to have a publicly available cloud Hadoop-as-a-service offering in the country.

Local and multi-national Chinese corporations can use Azure HDInsight to process large volumes of data from both unstructured and semi-structured sources Hadoop is an open-source platform that allows companies to store and process large amounts of data, from both their traditional data architecture and new big data sources.

In addition, Microsoft has made Azure HDInsight available in data centres in the east and southeast of Australia.
