Microsoft’s Project Madeira now available as a public preview

A public preview of Project Madeira, a code named solution from Microsoft that aims to help reinvent business management for small and midsize businesses (SMBs), has been made available in the US.

Helping to connect business processes with productivity tools in Office 365, Project Madeira has been designed to allow SMBs to grow their sales, manage their finances and improve operations.

Project Madeira is a public cloud service running on the Microsoft Azure platform, with customers able to access the service online or using apps on their Windows, iOS or Android devices.

Users no longer need to switch between business applications and e-mail, and are presented with the tools and data they need. This is because the service identifies business context within Outlook, such as invoices and quote requests.

Project Madeira has been designed from the ground up as a multi-tenant public cloud service on Microsoft Azure. This means SMBs are able to begin working quickly, manage their costs and keep their data safe in hyper-scale, enterprise-class data centres.

The preview version also gives an insight into the mobile capabilities of Project Madeira. Designed for a mobile workforce, the solution offers a consistent user experience across most devices and form factors.

The solution has also been designed to support growth, and Microsoft’s network of independent software vendors are working with the company to create extensions for Project Madeira.

The preview version is now available in the US, with general availability scheduled for the second half of 2016 with other countries to follow.
