Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 Docking Station now available for preorder

Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 Docking Station is now available for preorder.

The new docking station – which allows users to turn their Surface Pro 3 tablet into a full desktop PC  and connect to external monitors, keyboard, mouse, printer, speakers and more – is based on the same design as the original docking station, but features a handful of improvements, including more USB ports and a security lock slot.

With the new station, users will also be able to run up to three screens (the Surface itself, and two external monitors). “Using an external monitor (or several external monitors) when you’re at your desk really boosts your productivity,” said Suneel Goud, senior product manager of Microsoft Surface. “For example, you may be editing a document on one monitor, while referencing material on another. Or maybe your e-mail is open on one screen, and you’re watching a video conference on the second screen. Needless to say, increased screen real estate gives you the space to do more.”

Customers can visit the Microsoft Store now to preorder their own docking station and to find out more.
