Digital commerce and content management software provider Episerver joined with Microsoft to showcase how companies can use their unified cloud-based business suite to transform their operations at Microsoft Inspire in Las Vegas, US this week.

The suite combines Microsoft Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Power BI and Azure Cognitive Services with the Episerver Digital Commerce for Dynamics 365. Alongside Episerver’s integral rich content management, artificial intelligence-based personalisation and enterprise search capabilities, the suite creates an end-to-end resource that assists businesses to bring people, data and processes together.

“Episerver and Microsoft have a long and successful history of enabling our mutual customers to push their organisations forward by simplifying their complex business challenges,” said James Norwood, executive vice president of strategy and chief marketing officer at Episerver. “We’re continually recognised as the top .NET-based digital commerce vendor by industry analysts, and this solution that combines Episerver commerce with every aspect of Microsoft Dynamics 365 further cements the ease at which Episerver works with Microsoft to enable our joint customers to become digital leaders.”

Representatives from Microsoft and Episerver highlighted several of the possible use cases for the business suite. For example, organisations can use Dynamics 365 for Operations and Finance, combined with Episerver Commerce, to implement omnichannel store fulfilment and offer customers a buy online and pick-up in store experience.

Businesses can also use the suite to improve their customer engagement strategies. Information about visitor behaviour stored in Episerver’s customer data platform (CDP and synchronised with Dynamics 365 Sales to allow call centre agents and sales reps to access a full overview of every customer. Plus, companies can individualise engagement with customers by combining Episerver’s machine learning algorithms via its Personalisation Suite and Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 for Sales, Finance and Operations data, and Logic Apps. Episerver produces the accurate product and content recommendations, which is then leveraged and used by Microsoft’s tools to achieve the best results.

Businesses’ insights into customer behaviour is improved through the embedding of Power BI within Episerver, which makes use of Episerver’s CDP and Microsoft’s common data service.

“Modern retail means having a complete, accurate view of all products, orders, pricing, and customer data in one place, and then using that information to inform exceptional experiences anywhere along the customer journey,” said Muhammad Alam, general manager of Microsoft Business Applications Group. “Together with Episerver, we're helping retailers achieve valuable, personalised experiences by unifying all commerce data and experiences across all channels.”
