Naval defence expert DCNS selects DS’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform

3DEXPERIENCE platform to help drive a new era of development for naval defense solutions.

DCNS’s products include submarines, frigates, patrol vessels, aircraft carriers and landing platform docks. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform will help advance the way the company’s solutions are designed, engineered and constructed, and will help improve the management of the entire lifecycle of DCNS’ products.

In order to deliver systems that are offer the level of operational multi-mission capabilities required for naval defence, DCNS has to manage extreme complexity and high-level integration. This is to help provide clients, industrial systems and equipments partners with modern cooperation tools and digital interfaces. It is hoped that the 3DEXPERIENCE platform will enhance operational performance and provide DCNS with a competitive edge on a global scale.

“Agility – the capacity to provide timely, reliable and efficient answers to our clients’ demands while insuring world-class system integration and operational, cost-effective lifecycle solutions – is a significant competitive advantage,” said Herve Guillou, president and chief executive officer, DCNS. “Our cooperation with Dassault Systèmes and their transformational marine solutions provide a practical roadmap to achieve our ambitious goals from now on.”

“The marine and offshore industry at large is going through a new dynamic of innovation as the open seas are becoming more strategic than ever,” said Bernard Charlès, president and CEO, Dassault Systèmes. “The DCNS decision to adopt the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to create a virtual twin of their products across all lifecycles will set a new level of performance in the naval sector.”
