New Belgium Brewing Company has deployed a new Windows 8.1 line of business app for its fleet of sales associates.
Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, New Belgium is the third-largest craft brewery and eighth-largest overall in the US.
Built for touch, the ‘Rangerland’ app leverages account data stored in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, where the company’s ‘Beer Rangers’ sales team store all details related to their accounts, including meeting notes, product quality surveys and sales history.
Created by Sonoma Partners and Microsoft Consulting Services, the new business app is designed to streamline field tasks and allow sales staff to spend more time selling.
The Beer Rangers run the app on a Dell XPS 12 Convertible Ultrabook, which when combined with the app, enables them to feed data into the device in real-time while out in the field.
“Rangers love this app more than ever and are using it constantly and thinking of even more improvements,” said Jess Askey, IT Business Analyst for New Belgium Brewing Company.
The app is side-loaded and managed through Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Configuration manager and runs on devices powered by Windows 8.1 Enterprise.
“One of the great things about System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager is we can seamlessly push out updates to Rangerland remotely, whereas before we had to wait until salespeople were back at headquarters once a year to manually install them on Ranger tablets,” said Askey.
“From 2011 to 2014, our sales volume has increased 20%,” added Jessica Schleiger, CRM administrator at New Belgium Brewing Company. “Rangerland has helped us keep up in a high-growth culture.”
