New Microsoft resources provide practical steps to digital transformation

Microsoft has made available a Gartner whitepaper and a digital roadmap e-book for business leaders that are looking into how they can use technology to transform their operations.

Both resources, which are available to download from the Microsoft website, provide background information on the necessary measures that need to be taken to implement successful digital transformation strategies.

The Gartner report offers a practical framework for business leaders to use technology effectively across all areas of their organisation. It provides recommendations such as involving every member of the executive committee in their digital business strategy and bringing in outside expertise.

Microsoft’s 27-page e-book, Your Roadmap For A Digital-First Business, talks through the four pillars the company has identified where digital transformation will have the most impact – engaging customers, empowering employees, optimising operations and transforming products. Within that are steps business leaders can take to get real value from their technology investments.

Over the course of the next year, expect to see plenty more from Microsoft on the subject of digital transformation.

Earlier this week, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella addressed a room of financial services leaders and shared some of the ways they can transform their business through digital. Top of his agenda were the impact of major technology advances such as AI, the cloud, blockchain and cybersecurity.

You can also read a new article by Tito Arciniega, vice president of Commercial Enterprise Business at Microsoft, about what qualities a digital leader requires.
