For new professionals in the cloud technology space, one of the drawbacks of the ‘pay to play’ consumption model is the cost of learning.
Trial software and a personal computer allowed for virtually unlimited time learning new technologies and skills. Cloud providers which do not distinguish between fees and registration processes for commercial users versus educational users limit adoption by adding friction to the learning process.
Thankfully, through innovative thinking, companies that specialise in learning are packaging cloud technologies and capacity into predictable, repeatable, cheap and easy to use chunks are solving these problems, and enabling the greater adoption of cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure.
