NGA Human Resources migrates employees to Office 365

Global outsourced human resources provider NGA Human Resources (NGA HR) has migrated employees to Microsoft Office 365 to make them more mobile, connected and productive.

When its G Suite (formerly Google Apps for Work) contract came up for renewal in 2015, NGA HR opted to migrate all back-office applications and internal collaboration platforms to Office 365.

Working with the Microsoft FastTrack team and Microsoft partner Content and Code, NGA HR moved 8,000 employees working in more than 35 countries to Office 365 ProPlus in just 12 weeks.

“We believe that Office 365 presents more aligned business services that will make it easier for us to grow, develop, and most importantly, retain our talent,” said Russell Sheldon, CIO and senior vice president for HR consulting, application services and global technology at NGA HR, in a blog post. “Employees want to work for an organisation that uses technology to improve their work experience so they can collaborate and innovate more effectively to contribute to its growth. This is the inherent value of effective business productivity tools.”

Now that they have access to Office 365 ProPlus, employees can download the latest version of Office on up to five devices, including desktops, tablets and mobile, so they can access files and company data from any device, regardless of their location.

Employees also have access to a range of Office 365 services, including Microsoft OneDrive for Business, Office Delve, SharePoint Online and Office 365 Groups.

In addition, employees can use Skype for Business Online to collaborate virtually with colleagues and customers in other geographic locations. Not only has this reduced travel and communication costs, but it also enables the company and its customers to communicate in real time and make faster decisions on a global scale. Skype for Business Online has also opened up new consulting service opportunities because it allows customers to quickly initiate conversations with NGA HR.

Meanwhile, workers can collaborate via enterprise social network Yammer, which can also be used by senior executives to broadcast NGA HR’s employee value proposition and employment opportunities across the globe.

Office 365 also enables NGA HR to maintain its hybrid environment, which allows it to continue working with customers whose data cannot leave their geographic borders.

“With a minimal learning curve, everyone in the organisation is more mobile, connected and agile,” said Sheldon. “The feedback from employees is positive, and we are already seeing great results. Today, NGA HR is looking forward to even greater collaboration and localisation of our global business.”
