A Defence Special Edition of OnWindows is now available to read online.
Produced in association with the Microsoft Public Safety and National Security industry team, this special publication contains a wealth of information on the activities and capabilities of Microsoft and its partners in the defence sector, highlighting how they support their many customers across the globe.
“We are proud to support military and intelligence customers around the world with innovative technology and solutions that increase mission capability and reduce costs,” says Jamie Wylly, Microsoft’s general manager of Public Safety and National Security. “Today’s militaries need the greatest possible capability from technology investments and are looking to global leaders, like Microsoft, to produce cutting-edge technology, and to do so with an open architecture that allows interoperability with other technologies, including market competitors.”
In this special edition, the main feature looks at how Microsoft is delivering the swift communication and actionable intelligence capabilities that empower defence workers to make timely, efficient and informed decisions.
We also hear from some of Microsoft’s most influential thought leaders, including Colonel (ret.) D.A. Harris, director of business development at Microsoft Worldwide Defense, who tackles some of the biggest challenges facing defence organisations today. “The era of selling the latest product to a customer and walking away is past,” he says. “We come to the table with an understanding of our military customers’ goals and strategies and a plan for achieving them.”
The magazine also highlights the progress made by some of the globe’s leading defence organisations, including the UK Ministry of Defence and PCS Security in Singapore, sharing how they are leveraging Microsoft solutions to facilitate everyday success.
This special issue comes just in time for IDEX 2015 – which takes place from 22-26 February in Abu Dhabi – where Microsoft is proud to be featuring industry leaders and Microsoft partners Dell, Polycom and AvePoint, as well as Microsoft Surface Hub. Printed copies will be available on the Microsoft stand C12-O12.
