A successfully digitally transformed company:

Understands its data sources

They should have an enlightened understanding of the majority, if not entirety, of its data sources – where they originate from; how they can be accessed; what aspects of the organisation they affect.

Knows the true worth of their data

Once an organisation realises the data gold mine they already possess, they will want to secure it, ensure its continuity, archive it for benchmarking, and find ways to better analyse it in order to improve processes and save on associated costs.

Multitasks its data

Such an organisation will ensure that its important data can be visualised and acted upon (via digital controls) from anywhere in the world via any device; stored and retrieved via high-speed data historian; and analysed for multiple purposes (e.g., energy management, fault detection and diagnostics, etc.).
