Unisys releases new version of ClearPath MCP operating environment

Unisys has released a new version of its flagship ClearPath MCP operating environment.

Release 16.0 includes new products and enhanced features that help users modernise strategic applications and boost the security and speed transformation of their data centres.

ClearPath MCP can be integrated into a Windows-based Microsoft network, and resources and services based on MCP can be integrated with the Microsoft desktop.

The release is the newest version of an integrated software stack from Unisys and has been developed to enhance the performance and availability of ClearPath MCP systems for mission-critical core business applications.

“MCP 16.0 is the second major release of the ClearPath MCP operating environment in a year,” said Rob Cashman, vice president, mission-critical servers and solutions, Unisys. “That speed and the powerful enhancements we’ve made demonstrate Unisys’ commitment to providing ClearPath clients with new capabilities at a pace that matches the rapid evolution of their business challenges while still enabling them to build on their long-term investments in mission-critical technology.”

Three new products have been added to the ClearPath MCP stack as part of Release 16.0.

Relational Database Server for ClearPath MCP provides a highly available environment to support large relational databases and a high-volume of online transaction processing.

Data Compression is a software utility designed to reduce the time taken to transfer large data across a network, while the Software Inventory Assessment Utility feature simplifies auditing and security by enabling users to determine the versions of system software running on an MCP partition.
