Microsoft is teaming up with Dun & Bradstreet to help provide direct access globally to the company’s data via Microsoft’s cloud services.

By selecting Microsoft as its strategic cloud provider, Dun & Bradstreet is aiming to accelerate its digital transformation efforts and provide customers with seamless access to commercial data.

The company’s core applications will be powered by Microsoft Azure, and new services will be built using the platform. Microsoft’s intelligent cloud services will be used to help modernise applications.

Dun & Bradstreet’s data will be available within Microsoft Dynamics 365. The industry standard D-U-N-S Number and core business data will be integrated to help joint customers qualify sales leads and stay in line with Dun & Bradstreet’s global business database.

A joint co-sell arrangement between the two companies has also been reached, allowing Dun & Bradstreet to reach Microsoft’s commercial users and prospects. Both companies will sell Dun & Bradstreet core business data and D&B Hoovers – a powerful business research database & sales acceleration platform – with Dynamics 365.

With Azure, Dun & Bradstreet will be better placed to meet customer demands around real-time connectivity to its global business ecosystem. This will allow customers to use the company’s data to identify business opportunities more efficiently.

“We want our customers to have the most up-to-date data when they need it and where they want it,” said Josh Peirez, president and chief operating officer of Dun & Bradstreet. “By partnering strategically with Microsoft, we can take advantage of the scale and speed of cloud-based technologies, accelerate our innovation, and power seamless access to our data and insights. By delivering our content through the cloud, our customers will better discover – and grow – their most valuable business relationships.”

Judson Althoff, Microsoft’s executive vice president of worldwide commercial business, said: “Microsoft is honoured Dun & Bradstreet selected our cloud to power its most fundamental and key industry offerings. Digital transformation is not simply about technology – it requires business leaders to re-envision existing business models and embrace a different way of bringing together people, data and processes. Dun & Bradstreet is leveraging technology to power its innovation and create value for its customers. The opportunity for mutual customers to thrive with rich data when you combine Dynamics 365 and Dun & Bradstreet is incredible.”
