Woolworths adopts Galleria solution to boost promotion strategy and efficacy

Australian retailer Woolworths has significantly improved its promotion strategy with the deployment of Galleria’s Promotion Display Optimization (PDO) solution.

One of the largest supermarket chains in Australia, Woolworths recognised the profit potential of promotions within the industry and decided to implement process improvements that would promote efficiency through promotional strategies.

The retailer turned to Galleria, a leading provider of retail category planning, automation and optimisation solutions, in a bid to help reduce planning and labour costs, while simultaneously driving enhanced execution and compliance.

Galleria implemented its PDO solution, helping Woolworths to realise the immediate potential of any promotion by putting the right quantity of product in the right place at the right time, and with the right price.

PDO helps create customer-centric assortments and planograms, which can be tailored to meet the demands of consumers. The implementation at Woolworths was completed in less than 90 days.

Steve Boon, vice president of sales at Galleria, said: “The expeditious execution of our automated solution has made it possible for Woolworths to efficiently implement their promotional strategies with immediate effect, attributing to a balanced approach that also incorporates local influence and boosts operational efficiencies in the business.”
