Technology Record - Issue 38: Autumn 2025

67 our customers have 10,000 endpoints and some have 300, but the result is usually the same with each one. They are saving up to 30 hours a month by automating repetitive tasks, and it almost feels like they have employed an extra member of the team.” Another benefit of the Action1 platform is its compatibility with other device management systems such as Microsoft Intune. “We work very synergistically with Microsoft products such as the Intune suite for mobile fleet management,” explains Moody. “Intune can get our agents into systems where you wouldn’t ordinarily be able to go without administrative access. Once those agents are on the system, you can do things you can’t do with Intune. The two paired together make an excellent team.” Action1’s next priority is to develop agent takeover prevention technology. “If someone was to compromise your system and you had agent takeover prevention, all they would be able to do is rerun the things you had previously approved,” explains Moody. “For example, they could patch your systems, run maintenance scripts and so on. However, if they tried to do something not previously approved, such as releasing a malicious code, the agent would not do it as it hadn’t been previously authorised by the administrator. The technology is being built and we’re hoping to get it up and running by the end of 2025.” Photo: iStock.com/sturti
