Its integration with Microsoft Azure supports the growing need for organisations using Microsoft to maintain control and more direct ownership over their cryptographic keys. By leveraging enhanced BYOK functionalities, customers can generate, manage and use their own encryption keys within Microsoft’s cloud services. The solution also provides a single, centralised platform for sovereign key management, auditing logs and assisting customers with industry regulation compliance. ESKMaaS is part of Utimaco’s Trust as a Service portfolio, a platform providing access to Utimaco’s cloud-based solutions offering flexible deployment, easy scalability, and a lower total cost of ownership. Utimaco is a key component of the Microsoft Sovereign Cloud Initiative and has been one of Microsoft’s key partners since June 2025 for the provision of external key management solutions to ensure a high level of data sovereignty, security and compliance for highly regulated customers.
