84 INTERVIEW Adding credit intelligence into AI workflows Financial services organisations are now well versed in the ways AI tools can support their business so, to maximise their impact, they are turning their attention to the quality of the data and intelligence behind them. Moody’s and Microsoft have expanded their partnership to bring Moody’s credit intelligence directly into Microsoft’s AI ecosystem, including Microsoft 365 Copilot. The companies have developed a dedicated agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot, as well as integrations with Copilot Chat, Researcher and Excel, to make risk and credit intelligence a seamless part of everyday decision-making for financial service organisations. “This puts Moody’s intelligence into the tools many organisations already use every day to make decisions,” says Cristina Pieretti, head of digital content and innovation at Moody’s. “Moody’s connected intelligence is showing up in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams and Microsoft Researcher, which means employees – whether analyst, underwriter or risk officer – no longer have to leave their workflow to bring Moody’s into the picture. The intelligence is there, grounded, traceable and ready to act on. As our intelligence is now inside the environment where decisions get made, Moody’s agents and connected intelligence are doing the heavy lifting, alongside the people who are driving the analysis.” So how will this integration into the Microsoft AI ecosystem change day-to-day work within financial service organisations? Tasks can now be completed within familiar applications, such as Excel and Researcher, enabling teams to move from analysis to decision-making more quickly while maintaining transparency over data sources. “It will significantly reduce the time analysts spend gathering and processing information, such as comparing companies, evaluating risk profiles and producing reports,” says Pieretti. Within the next five years AI will “change the speed and scale of analysis” says Pieretti. “AI will play a bigger role across the entire analysis process, but the real differentiator will be how connected, current and reliable the underlying intelligence is. Moody’s has spent more than a century building that foundation. Our connected intelligence spans over 600 million entities and two billion ownership links across credit, compliance and financial risk. By embedding that directly into AI workflows, we can deliver decision-grade intelligence that is grounded, traceable and built for the scrutiny of real financial decisions.” Moody’s is embedding its data intelligence into Microsoft’s AI ecosystem to make risk and credit intelligence a seamless part of everyday decision-making, as Cristina Pieretti explains BY LAURA HYDE “ Employees no longer have to leave their workflow to bring Moody’s into the picture”
