Technology Record - Issue 42: Autumn 2026

113 VIEWPOINT A better blueprint for Dynamics 365 adoption Enterprises are rethinking Dynamics 365 training. In-app, contextual guidance offers the fastest, most reliable way to close knowledge gaps, reduce support load and drive adoption at scale Around 70 per cent of large software implementations fail – not because of the technology, but because employees struggle to adopt it. When organisations deploy enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms like Microsoft Dynamics 365, they often depend on small, overstretched support teams, outdated documentation and informal knowledge sharing to train users. This approach can lead to confusion, errors and compliance or security risks. When employees can’t find the answers they need, or trust that documentation is accurate, they default to raising a support ticket or interrupting colleagues. This slows them down and forces ERP teams to spend hours answering repeat questions about tasks users should be able to complete independently. The solution is to deploy in-app guidance, so employees receive help at the moment they need it. ClickLearn’s digital adoption platform is designed specifically for this. Rather than spending hours producing traditional training materials, organisations can use ClickLearn to record processes in minutes and automatically create a customisable e-learning portal with standardised content in more than 45 languages. This content is delivered in seven formats – including narrated videos, classroom presentations and hands-on labs – to cater for varied learning styles. The Replay feature automatically updates content as workflows and software evolve, ensuring it remains accurate and aligned with the live ERP environment. Employees can access the content 24/7 via any device and can also receive AI-powered in-app guidance in real time from the in-app virtual assistant. Multiple organisations have already boosted Dynamics adoption with ClickLearn. One notable example is CKS Packaging, which manufactures rigid plastic containers. The company deployed ClickLearn UXP to standardise Dynamics 365 Business Central process training for both English- and Spanish-speaking teams working at 11 of its production facilities. The solution has enabled the organisation to cut IT support hours by 75 per cent, onboard employees 79 per cent faster and save around $1,332 per new hire. CKS Packaging’s success shows how in-app guidance and e-learning portals do more than just reduce support tickets. Solutions like ClickLearn empower organisations to upskill employees and close knowledge gaps without adding more training sessions to the calendar. When users can independently find the right answer at the right moment within their workflow, they stay productive and naturally adopt new technologies – ensuring these investments deliver value at scale.
