The Thom Europe Group, the European market leader for retail jewellery in shopping centres, has chosen the Aures Group's sango EPOS terminals to renew its in-store IT equipment.
The retailer, which incorporates the Histoire d’Or, Marc Orian and Trésor brands, will roll out the EPOS terminals over the next three years in its outlets in France, Belgium, Portugal and Italy.
“We chose sango terminals for their high performance, reliability, powerful processors and memory capacity,” said Philippe Le Berre, head of IT Systems at Thom Europe.
He added: “Our heavy and multiple IT processes require very reliable till management and EPOS systems: Aures equipment rarely breaks down.
“We really appreciate the fact that these EPOS can be upgraded, as this guarantees uniform, long-lasting IT equipment.”
Other reasons the company gives for choosing the sango EPOS terminals include the ability to style them in its corporate branding, their ergonomic design and multiple connectivity to peripherals.
“The sango's lightweight, offset stand frees up space beneath the system's touchscreen,” said Thierry Gallois, the Group's infrastructure and networks manager. “As there is no heavy base, certain peripherals can be accommodated and grouped together more easily. It's very practical.”
The Thom Europe Group started working with Aures in 2003 and implemented Odyssé EPOS terminals in 2005.
The group has 540 sales outlets in France, Belgium, Italy and Portugal, employs 2,700 people and has opened more than 60 stores in the past three years.
