Australian data centres get Microsoft Office 365 and Dynamics CRM Online

Microsoft Office 365 and Dynamics CRM Online will now be generally available in Australian data centres.

Furthermore, Microsoft Office 365 has completed a formal security assessment for unclassified sensitive government data via the Australian Government’s Independent Registered Assessors Program (IRAP).

Both announcements will help ensure customer data is protected, easily managed and compliant.

Microsoft Office 365 becomes the first cloud productivity service in Australia to provide IRAP assurance, and Dynamics CRM Online is currently receiving a similar IRAP assessment.

A statement from Microsoft’s Office 365 team read: “Our comprehensive approach to global and local certifications provides the gold standard in security to federal government agencies, state government, education, healthcare, and commercial enterprises in Australia — all verified by third parties.”

The new local services will provide faster performance, will offer geo-redundant back-up and support customers with their data residency considerations.

The statement also said: “We’re thrilled to be able to provide these technologies locally to help Australian businesses and organisations innovate and compete globally.”
