Dassault Systèmes releases R2015x version of its 3DEXPERIENCE platform

Dassault Systèmes has made its Release 2015x for the 3DEXPERIENCE platform generally available.

The new release offers a series of enhancements that allows users to significantly increase productivity, both on premise and using the cloud.

R2015x includes a new user interface, applications, services and cloud infrastructure enhancements. The release also offers improved performance, quality and usability to customers, as well as the full social collaboration capabilities of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Dassault Systèmes’ cloud customers were all successfully upgraded to R2015x within a few hours.

“Every single cloud customer is already taking advantage of the volume of new enhancements we’ve implemented in R2015x, demonstrating the power of the cloud model,” said Dominique Florack, senior executive vice president, Research and Development, Dassault Systèmes. “We are the first to truly take advantage of this model, in its simplicity, for our customers of all types and sizes.”

The new release sees the introduction of groupings of applications, called ‘roles’. These aim to cover a broader set of activities that are required to accomplish activities in industry-specific domains, to best meet the needs of users.

The ‘roles’ can be accessed and selected via the 3Dcompass of the user interface, and options include creative designer, project manager and stress analysis engineer.

R2015x is also touch-friendly, and users can also easily customise their interface and toolbars.

Florack added: “R2015x offers quality and robustness that will particularly resonate among industrials seeking to unify the user experience across multiple processes for enhanced and more efficient innovation.”
