Dell Software has released a new enterprise social migration solution, which it will be showcasing at Microsoft Ignite 2015 next week.
Migration Manager for Enterprise Social solves the challenge of supporting and maintaining multiple social platforms by allowing businesses to consolidate their Jive content into Microsoft Yammer.
Not only does the solution aim to help businesses maximise their investment in Office 365 and Yammer, but it also helps to reduce siloes of content and communication.
Dell claims that this solution is the first of its kind to be introduced to the market and that it has worked closely with Microsoft to gather the requirements necessary to migrate Jive content to Yammer.
“Dell is a leader in migrations, having migrated more than 65 million AD accounts, 50 million mailboxes to Exchange, and hundreds of terabytes of data to SharePoint,” said Steve Dickson, vice president and general manager of Dell Software Windows Management. “Being first to market with an enterprise social migration solution is proof-point of our commitment to innovation.”
The solution works by allowing businesses to see exactly what is in their current Jive environment and discover the content they want to move. This insight helps determine what should be moved and what can be eliminated, so the migration strategy can be planned with confidence to reduce project risk, cost, time and complexity.
“Migration Manager for Enterprise Social fills a need in the market by allowing organisations to forego the expense and burden of supporting multiple social networks,” said Bryan Goode, senior director of Enterprise Social at Microsoft. “Businesses now can easily migrate from standalone social solutions to Yammer and Office 365, and improve team collaboration without having to resort to a risky, expensive, labour-intensive manual consolidation process.”
